The Great British Summer

This summer has been set of well, we had scorching hot temperatures and pulled out many barbeques from garages. The world cup was being prepped in Brazil and ice cream vans trolled up and down our streets chiming lour music. All seemed to be going well for England.

However, nothing stays well for long. Game of Thrones came to a astonishing end (truly it was magnificent), the sun started to disappeare behind dark clouds. To top it all off, England were kicked out of the World Cup before it even properly started. Overall, it’s not been great for England. Yet, like most unemployed young people, we must rise against the bad things. When we see a hint of sun behind a dark cloud we shall run into the garden and catch those few rays.

Washing is put back out on the line, yoga is performed in gardens and couples walk hand in hand down Regents Park exploring what this country has to offer in summer. Yes, many of us will be jetting abroad to explore other countries and  in search of more summer sun. However, for – in my opinion – the elite few will be spending their summer in the back garden. Sitting on old sun loungers with SPF 40 covering their freckled shoulders and no stop complaints about how hot it is. For, at the end of the day, this is England, and winter, spring, summer or fall, we will complain about it all.
