Are teenagers penalised by society?

Teenagers are also deemed as useless and moaning. With programs such as Kevin and Perry showing boys to be grunting and complaining (which they are) and films like Easy A to show girls as gossips which live to ruin other girls lives (which they are) but not 100% of the time are teenagers like this. We do try however, we work hard at school we run around town handing in CVs to try and get jobs yet no where will hire you. We try to make a better future for ourselves by applying for university however living costs are so much that we need a job to stay alive there. How can we get jobs however if you need experience to work everywhere? Without experience there's no chance.

As students it can feel like the whole world is against you, you're not mature enough to be treated as an adult but too old to be treated as a child. You're free - and often encouraged - to go out and have a life but how is that possible if everywhere refuse to employ you? Most successful students are apprentices and that's only because they don't attend full time school. Ask a retailer for a job and tell them you want part-time work they'll laugh you out of the shop. Everywhere wants a mature person, but if they won't even give us a chance how can we prove we're mature enough to work for them?

I feel shops should stop banning people under the age of 18 to work for them and give students a chance, let them prove they are worthy and able. Most students are in such dire need of money that they will work with so much passion out of fear of being unemployed, and who can blame them? With car insurance costing nearly three times the amount of the car, petrol being at its highest and tax on everything money is the only way to survive.

So, yes I feel as teenagers we are penalised by society. Some teens are bad, they behave like idiots and seem to find it socially acceptable to run around like idiots beating people up. But there are some who are dedicated, they're usually in groups driving at a safe speed and wearing smart-ish clothes as that's how they desire to be perceived as someone of good intentions.
