If you could live in any era which would you do?

Recently I went to a 1950s bowling alley in London. It felt like going into a time warp the seats the diner the milkshakes it was like going back in time it was amazing!

This got me thinking of how the world has changed through each era.

Back in the 1920s we see the glamour of people and the amount of conspicuous consumption being ran around the world. The Great Gatsby makes the world look so interesting and perfect, we see a representation of how 1920s America was so amazing and perfect. However, its not without its problems, the class system demoralised people and the amount of wealth made people feel lost in a new world of adventure.

1950s showed big dresses and high school drama. Grease represents the teens of the 1950s shows people going to milkshake bars and high school proms. The world is still glamorous but a different type of glamour. Gone are the tight and short outfits of the 20s and in are the big, bright a bold dresses of the 50s.

1990s brought in indie music. Blur and Oasis fought and heaven forbid you liked both! Girls opted for band t-shirts and a lot of cropping with men going for baggy trousers. Looking at My Mad Fat Diary the 1990s weren't that different to common day really. We see music geeks and groups of friends its pretty much the modern day just with a slightly bit more freedom concerning clothing.

That brings us to the modern day, in this modern day, we still look to other eras and try to be them. Whether its with movies, TV shows or bars we can't seem to drop the past. However, thats slightly better, at least we draw inspiration from the past to work the modern day society.
